Questionnaire about the future activities of the LIMTI Branch

Dear colleagues,

At the last session with "LIMTI" in Amsterdam I handed out a questionnaire about the future activities of our branch. I realize that not everybody has the privilige to attend IAML conferences or did attend the session but had no time to fill in the form. Therefore I put the same questions on the blog. I would be most obliged to receive your comments. In case you prefer to send them by fax, this is my fax number: +46 31 786 40 59.

1. What do you think about today's session?

2. What topics do you think would be interesting for future conferences?

3. Do you have any suggestions regarding other activities for our branch?

4. Do you have any comments regarding the web site?

5. Do you have any comments regarding the blog?

Pia,

Congratulations to you and your presenters for an excellent session. It is great to see and learn from experts and innovators.

I commend you for creating this blog and for the content you have provided to the IAML site. I understand that it can be hard to encourage comments and suggestions, but you are doing the right things.

I have an idea for a session LIMTI might consider for next year. What about popular world music in music teaching institutions? How is it being used in the curriculum? What should we has librarians do to include it in our collections? How do we connect what we do have in our collections with the teaching in the classes?

Thank you again for all of your contributions!

Dear David,

Thank you very much for your kind and encouraging¨words (and sorry for not replying earlier - I am on holiday)!

I am also very grateful for your idea about a topic for LIMTI next year. I am afraid, however, that the two sessions in Moscow are already settled. One will focus on the work of AEC (The European Association of Conservatoires) and the other is "filled" by speakers suggested by the Russan Organizing Committee.

I will make sure to remember your idea for Dublin. As a matter of fact I had already thought about a theme like "The music conservatoire in a globalized world". Your suggestion would fit nicely in to this!

I am afraid I am not quite familiar with the term "popular world music", but I suppose it is "world music" excluding "folk music" from different countries?
